My mother is having heart surgery tomorrow and I am taking an early flight to NY to be there with her and my sisters. Will be back next week if all goes well…please keep her lifted up. She is 87 and this will be rough for her….thank you all~

I have always run to you
with every word, each
birth and death-
a sharing that surpassed
our very breath…
and now with news
held choking
in my throat, I see
and understand
these shameful truths.
My hands to touch,
my lips to speak
of every timid dream,
each mortal pain
of loss and love,
of measured time between.
One left aching-
all alone
amongst the words
that spill and flutter
soft on fallow ground.
