waiting for your read.
A colorless glimpse
assiduously painted
on faded canvas.
Longing to explain
who I am and what I feel-
fruitlessly detailed.
Constant, aching thirst
tamed by boundaries of ink’s
unquenchable need.

I catch your shadow falling-
beyond lines of sight.

Recant not vows that fell against the breast
and turn, in turning toward what time allows.
The throated calyx open to the sun,
tomorrow trembles on its snowy cleft.
Assemble every breath of love’s sweet lore
in fingers spread to grieve, adhere to flight.
Mine as diamonds lying limb-ensnared
as morning light succeeds successive night.
Pray thee love before unhindered dawn
