A Temple in the Heat

The meadow grasses beckoned,
adorned with raucous flowers,
a tranquil spot inviting us to stay.
So arm in arm we reckoned
to wile away the hours

Amaranthine’s Promise

Girlhood dreams mean nothing,
there is no faerie prince,
no castle dwelling royalty,
no bards left to convince.
Tapestry lined chambers
where all is gilt and gold
are but a storybook fantasy,
reality untold.
The vaulted halls are dark now,
moss-grown crumbling stone.
A ghostly maiden claims these rooms,
